For years, College Hill has proudly teamed up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to create custom merchandise for incredible events like the Winter Pineapple Classic and the Firefighter Stairclimb. For the second year in a row, we were thrilled to sponsor the apparel for their Students of the Year program.
LLS is a philanthropic organization that is raising funds and awareness to fight blood cancer. Their Students of the Year program is a leadership development program aimed at high school students. This program helps them gain charitable experience, raise awareness to an important cause near to their hearts and nurture skills like entrepreneurship, project management and promotion/PR. They take part in a 7-week competition to see who can raise the most funds within their networks/community.
Meet Sophia and Garret.
Sophia Diseth is a freshman from Rogers High School in Puyallup, Washington. She wanted to stand up and make an impact in the fight against cancer. Sophia was nominated by her junior high school principal, Troy Hodge, who is a blood cancer survivor and longtime supporter of the Students of the Year campaign.
Sophia is helping manage the annual community breakfast and run that brings together community members who want to support the cancer research, patient support and advocacy that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society funds.
Garret Ringer is a freshman at Puyallup High School, also in Puyallup, Washington, and he heard about the Students of the Year campaign from a family friend who competed last year. He is an avid baseball player and got several of his fellow athletes to join his fundraising team. Garret is a leader at school and has used those skills to raise awareness for blood cancer and inspire his community to join the fight.
Both Sophia and Garret are shining examples of the intelligent, hard-working, big-hearted students involved in this groundbreaking program.
The Students of the Year candidates are exceptional high school students who raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through letter-writing, social media campaigns and community events.
About the tee:
We selected the District Perfect Tri-Tee in Black Frost for the 2020 t-shirt sponsorship. This poly/combed ring spun cotton/rayon blend tee has a subtle heathered look and a tear-away label for extra comfort. We screen printed the left chest and left sleeve for a subtle, professional look.
